For the love of God and all that is holy, why, why, WHY would ANYONE call ANYWHERE at 4:58? Not to mention that normal business hours everywhere on the face of the planet are 9-5, this a FINANCIAL SERVICES FIRM. THE MARKET CLOSES AT FOUR!!! THE ONLY REASON I’M STILL HERE IS BECAUSE I’M A TEMP!!!!!
A temp staring at the clock waiting for it to tick over to 5. So, knowing that the market closes at 4, and most places close at five, and in fact, most banks (i.e. finances) close at 4 or 4:30, why in the name of sanity would you call here at 4:58?!!!!!
You are the SOLE reason that I couldn’t get out of here five minutes earlier to catch my bus and not get stuck in the rain, you people that call the BANK at 4:58!!!!!!!!
Rantasaurus Says: Oh man. I do that all the time. I call businesses at 4:59 and, after taking as much time as possible to make idle chit-chat, I ask their hours.
I feel your pain, my fave is when they come IN 2 minutes till and ask for 22 singles 3 fives 2 tens and 10 twentys a fifty and a hundred and change for a dollar 2 dimes and a nickle and a roll of quarters causing you to have to reballance your entire drawer and oh can we open this new account for my son/daughter who is six years old and OH SO EXCITED about opening an account with their jar of change, and by the way while we’re here can we deposit to my IRA and is the coffee fresh ….what time do you close, do I have time to get into my safety deposit box? they ask 15 minutes after close on a saturday…(knowing full well they pull this every weekend) and as you let them out smiling wishing them a nice weekend and someone else is running to the door yelling “Are you closed!??”
